I am a Doctor of Chiropractic as well as a certified yoga teacher with a passion for anatomy, functional movement, and biomechanics. I began practicing yoga in Los Angeles a lifetime ago when I had the bright idea of pursuing a career in modeling and acting. Between all of the auditions, all over a huge city, I used yoga to help alleviate stress in a tough industry. The more time I spent with the mat, the better I felt and realized there must be something to this yoga thing. So, I began attending the studio more, paying attention to body and movement, and pushing myself to see what I could do in each practice.
I have been in sports for most of my life, my biggest concentration on gymnastics. Needless to say, strength and flexibility have always been important to me. I would sit in front of the clock in all three split positions, and help these stretches for 30-60 minutes at a time. As I dove more into yoga, I began to revisit the flexibility that I was starting to lose. There is only so much the body can retain in short bursts of stretches. In this, I discovered something about yoga, and the body’s ability to move, to stretch and to heal. Since then, I have been hooked and plan on incorporating my knowledge as a doctor with my passion for yoga!
